Saint-Vergondin church in Penne

Located on the edge of the Aveyron river, the small Saint-Vergondin church is of Romanesque origin, reworked in the 17th century, and includes a Gothic chapel at the end of its nave. The church was attached to the diocese of Albi after the French Revolution because it previously depended on the diocese of Cahors.

This church is made up of a single nave contiguous to the north of two chapels (including a large one which may have belonged to the previous building), an entrance awning to the south and a small chapel. Its choir has a flat apse.

Originally built probably in the 12th century, there are still paintings from the 14th and 18th centuries.

The church was extensively remodeled around 1665
